About the craft: The art of Sanghaneri block prints hails from Sanghaner a small town near Jaipur, Rajasthan. The artisans are known for printing delicate and fine motifs (also called buttas) mostly floral or mughal inspired using hand carved wooden blocks. In order to create a particular design and pattern the artisans press wooden blocks on the fabric multiple times using different dye colours. The result - looks like an entire garden of flowers on the fabric with its own irregularity providing a unique look.
