Ghera - Kala Bandhani Dupatta
Ghera - Kala Bandhani Dupatta
About the craft : Bandhani or bandhej is the tie-and-dye technique of decorating the fabrics practiced in Rajasthan and Kutch. The dot like patterns are created by tying the fabrics with threads and then dipping in dye of the required base colour. After that the threads are removed to create dot like patterns on the fabric. Most skilled artisans are able to tie the threads of very small size to create tiny dots. The smaller the dots, the more the time taken by the artisan and the more beautiful the final product looks.
